Meeting Needs

Together is Better

Hearts United Association, founded in 1999, was the vision of Vicki Shaffer and an ecumenical group of followers of Christ. Together they planned a way to minister to the needs of less fortunate Litchfield residents.

Through lots of prayer and help from many community members and churches, Hearts United has grown to be a viable nonprofit ministry serving our city.

Uniting believers to meet needs. One of the original visions of Hearts  is to unite churches to meet the most immediate needs of our residents. We have an Executive Board and Advisory Board consisting of representatives from 12 or more churches.

The Thrift Store opened in 2002 as a way to further meet needs and sustain ministry expenses.

Started out as 100% volunteers. Volunteers are still the heart of the organization.

Hearts United Association is a registered 501c3 Nonprofit organization.

THERE ARE PEOPLE IN NEED. HEARTS UNITED IS HELPING.

Hearts United, serving as an extension of local churches, is fighting to curb the effects of poverty, eliminate poverty, be a voice for the poor and partner with clients to meet needs. We believe all people have value, potential and strengths to contribute to our community.
